Nourish the Soul...Rooted in Wellness is a comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum tailored for youth and adults, centered around horticulture, ecosystems, and daily life skills. It offers educational opportunities in health and wellness, nutrition, occupational development, and personal growth to communities facing diversity, equity, and inclusion disparities. By utilizing our educational approaches alongside healthcare monitoring, Rooted in Wellness aims to tackle issues such as food insecurity, socioeconomics, and social determinants of health. The program is designed to mitigate inequities that contribute to the development of diseases in at-risk and disadvantaged communities. Rooted in Wellness is a very diverse curriculum that can be implemented into any environment: food banks and pantries, schools (public, private, charter, home school co-ops), colleges/universities, enrichment centers, churches, recreation and senior centers, youth and adult clubs, retirement communities, as well as homeless shelters, transitional living situations, Special Health Districts, Indian Reservations, and companies seeking Corporate Wellness programs. Rooted in Wellness was created by Shae Gawlak, CEO of the Fallbrook Food Pantry (FFP), headquartered in Fallbrook California, and her team of talented professionals. FFP is a non-profit organization providing disadvantaged individuals, in Greater Fallbrook, with weekly nutritious food, focusing on fresh produce, first. Shae has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Sports Science Nutrition and has been passionate about educating people on how to live a healthy lifestyle for more than three decades. Rooted in Wellness took her thirteen years to develop and complete, and has proven to help thousands of individuals be successful in positively transforming their lives. Shae believes that food and movement ARE medicine and that the human body is a dynamic machine that instinctively knows what it needs in order to thrive. However, it is up to us to make healthy decisions about our food intake and activity regimens, that will ultimately determine how we look, feel, and move, every day. |

It actually contains messages that communicate to every cell in the body.” – Dr. Mark Hyman “All children should have the basic nutrition they need to learn and grow and to pursue their dreams, because, in the end, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our children.” – Michelle Obama |
